Fate in the Haze

Post by Bob-Kyle on Fri Apr 09, 2010 3:22 pm

Glenn looked past the horizon, the sun danced
across the waves of the ocean as he began loading supplies onto the
ship that was made for his coming journey. Behind him was a small man of
Caledrian decent.

Thank you
again, Professor Losyl.

Oh,
pish-posh, my good chap. Anything for the son of Dyne. Now, I've
supplied you with powder to fire the cannon, incase any monsters attack.
Remember, you can only sail where the wind takes you.

Isn't this ship a tad big to be manned by myself?
It looks like a lot of work to run it.

Good point, you'll need assistance.

Glenn
thought to himself for a while.

I'll gather a crew. Thank you again.

Come back to us safe, Glenn. Do not forget your
heritage!

With that, Losyl walked off. As he did,
Laila, a female Gerudo, walked onto the ship. Glenn hadn't seen Laila
since the battle that decided Hyrule's future. He assumed she had just
went back to the desert.

I'm
coming with you.

Glenn noted the assertiveness in
her tone, and simply nodded as she went below the deck. She was a
skilled ally, and by extension--a dangerous foe.

Glenn looked
across the horizon, a few of his friends were to meet him there to see
him off, he decided he would just ask them to join him when they
arrived.

Quint lay there on the beach, resting his head on his hands, simply just
watching the sky. Although he was more day dreaming, than focusing on
the puffy white clouds in the clear blue sky. Quint hadn't actually
dealt with what he had lost in the past few months. He was the last of
his family, except for his cousin, his best friend turned nemesis,
destroyed, his hopes for returning to his home in smithereens. He had
nothing now...

"Erm...you still
have me..."
a voice rang in Quints head, as Hob lightly
tapped Quints head to remind him. he smirked.

"Sorry. Guess I was so wrapped up into that daydream that I
forgot you were there..."
Quint replied to Hobs voice speaking in
his head.

"Is it that hard to
forget a glowing red fairy sitting on your shoulder? Geez,"

Hob complained, as he hovered a few paces to Quints left. Curious, Quint
sat up and looked over to Hob.

"What
is it?"

"Dunno, seems
like someones having a goodbye party. Wanna crash it?"
Hob
replied. Quint chuckled as he got up.

"Meh, better than what I had planned," Hob flew back
over to Quint as he started strolling over to what was man and a woman
standing near a pretty large sailing boat.

"What? Moping around on the beach all day?" Hob
said, as Quint grabbed him and stuffed him into his breast pocket.

"SO...NOT...FUNNY..." said a
muffled voice from Hob, as Quint grinned and continued to walk on
towards the couple.

As Quint began to get near the two, he
started to recognize who it was. Quint cupped his hands to his face and
shouted.

"HEY GLENN! BUDDY!"

Glenn looked over towards the shouting. Mixed
feelings swelled within him. Could he truly place faith within him?
Considering Quint was technically a triple agent, there wasn't much
stopping him from betrayal once again. He sighed, and reconsidered. He
still needed help.

Quint!

Glenn
had wanted to ask, but forced himself not to. He looked over at Quint,
and finally the words spilled out of his mouth.

Quint, do you wanna leave Hyrule? After the
unfortunate situation at the...

He stopped himself
there, and let his eyes drift down to his feet. He turned his back and
continued loading supplies. Although he had originally planned to sail
solo, he had supplies enough to last a group of people for at least a
week.

...Sorry. What I meant
was... We're in the same situation, I have nothing left for me here
besides friends, but I need to find my brother. I'm sure there's
something out there you need to find, isn't there?

Quint had stopped in front of Glenn, who clearly didn't look happy to
see him at first, but after what he had just asked, he-

"That he doesn't hate you as much as you
think?"
Hob said aloud, reading Quints inner
monologue, as he got himself out of his breast pocket.

"For the love of Din, Hob, stop reading my
mind out loud when I obviously don't want you to..."
Quint
said as he growled at Hob, and then turned to face Glenn again, who was
still looking a little sheepish from asking him to join him.

"Well, your right, got nothing left here.
Plus an adventure with an unknown destination is the perfect thing I
need!"
Quint chuckled as he held out a hand.

"No hard feelings then, Caledrian?"

Glenn nodded and chuckled at the fairy.

No hard feelings.

Glenn
grasped his hand and shook it.

Three
still doesn't cut it. We need more people, but some of our friends
should be here soon, so... Yeah, why don't you go explore the rooms
below the deck, and make sure we don't die from any like cracks forming

Re: Fate in the Haze

Post by Bob-Kyle on Fri Apr 09, 2010 3:25 pm

Quint raised an eyebrow.

"Why
would you happily accept a ship that might need repairs from a friend?"

Quint said, before turning and walking towards the large ship
that..oddly was very near the land.

After climbing up the side
and hopping over the barrier to land on the deck, he looked around.

"Looks pretty nice if you ask me,"
Hob said as he sat on Quints shoulder, being the lazy fairy he was.

"Hmm, got that right, let's check out the
cabins!"
Quint said as he quickly went down the stairs
into...a..large wooden hall...
Brows furrowed, he ran back up to
check the size of the boat. Still a bit skeptical, he ran back down to
look at...the large...wooden hall...

"Hob...I think I'm losing it...cause no WAY could the
inside of the ship be bigger than the ship itself...right?"

"No, but this isn't a normal ship,"

"Say again fairy kid?" Hob sighed
as Quint continued to give him a confused face.

"It's a magic ship. And I can tell, cause
I'm a magical being. Heck with the amount of magic flowing through this
thing, I'd have thought you could feel it.."

Quint
looked around, and still couldn't see anything except the two large
tables taking up the hall, one covered with a partially blank map, one
with cutlery and candles.

"Oh...fair
enough. Moving on then"
Quint replied, as he walked over to
the table with the map with Hob hovering behind him.

As he looked
at the map, he saw that the part that wasn't blank was Hyrule. He could
see the Zoras Domain, where many fought and died, and Hyrule castle,
that held a lot of history, which he was a part of. And he could also
see his home province, the Gerudo desert. Yet something occurred to him.
The only parts of the desert marked on the map were the main Gerudo
fortress and the Spirit temple. Quint frowned. The memories of his home
and family wouldn't even be remembered on official maps...

He
could also see the coastline from where he and Glenn were, and the sea
they were planning on heading out to...but nothing was marked further
than that, just blankness. Perhaps Glenn and his crew would record the
rest of the world on this map?

Bored with looking at the map now,
Quint turned around to see if there was anything else that stood out in
this hall for map marking and dining, and then he saw another set of
stairs next to the stairs that lead up to the main deck.

"By the Hero of Time! Theirs another floor?

Quint
walked down the stairs that lead down into a corridor, with what looked
what must have been at least 6 doors widely spaced leading to decent
sized rooms. He assumed these were simply personal cabins and such, and
turned to leave, then a sound of something falling and someone letting
out a sound of pain coming from one of the rooms.

Curious, Quint
checked the rooms until he came upon a girl getting dressed in one.
With the ears like a Hylian, and pale skin, she stared straight back at
Quint.

"...Do you mind? I'm getting
dressed here!"

Quint blushed as he closed the
door. After waiting for a few minutes, the girl opened the door and
looked at him.

"Right, Gerudo. What
do you want?"
she said as she crossed her arms.

"Nothing...just wondering what the heck your
doing on this boat?
Quint replied as he also crossed his
arms.

"It looked nice. I suppose
you want to take me to your captain then seeing as you found an
unexpected passenger?"
The girl said as she started walking
off up the stairs.

"...would I
have had a choice if I didn't care...?"

Quint
walked up back onto the beach to meet Glenn, with the strange girl
walking with him.

"Hey Glenn,
two things. the ships magically massive, and two, we have someone who
was trying to hitch a ride..."
he said as he pointed
to the girl next to him.

"I see that you're off. Probably another adventure?"

Dao now
stepped onto the ship. "I've received your note," he smiled, taking a
folded piece of parchment from his pocket. "Said that you got a ship and
all. No details though. I guess you were in a hurry writing and all.
Well, what's up?"

He extended his hand forward and offered a
small smile to Glenn. "Haven't you talked to me about sailing on a ship
before? I can't exactly remember what, but I'm sure it wasn't about your
health, was it?"

The sky was blue. It was a clear day. A gentle
breeze meandered slowly on the deck of the ship, drunk with sunshine. It
was a beautiful day, he noted. The waves rocked the boat lightly. It
was ideal weather.

"Well, if you're going to leave today, as
least it's pretty," Dao's eyes took in the surroundings and happily
approved. "Who are your shipmates? Looks like a big ship."

Glenn looked back to Quint and the unexpected guest, but before he
got the chance to respond, Dao showed up.

Dao!

He waited for him to
finish talking, and shortly after opened his mouth to speak.

The offer still stands, if you want to go. We
definitely need more than what we have. Speaking of which...

Glenn
turned around and looked at the girl.

Re: Fate in the Haze

Post by Bob-Kyle on Fri Apr 09, 2010 3:29 pm

Maximus hadn't wanted to make this journey. He
was happy. He had a home. He had a family.

But something was
missing. At first he couldn't put his finger on it. But he knew what it
was. The lack of something to do. He was restless. Life as a mercenary
warrior had given him ruthless killing skills, and put him in excellent
physical condition, but the peace he had striven for bored him.

He decided to visit his family in Forceasville. His people delighted at
Vess. But his father could tell he was bored. The words still rang in
his ears.

"I have received word that there is an expedition
mounting from Caledra. The crown prince himself will explore the world,
and they are looking for a few good men."

He handed Maximus a
flier printed on extremely cheap paper with the advertisment "To seek
out and contact all unknown life. To explore. To travel the vast sea,
where no man has gone before."

"I should leave Vess here."

"Hasn't
she proven herself enough?"

Maximus was silent. That night, in
the comfort of the room he had grown up in as a child, he proposed the
idea to Vess. She thought about it.

"You know Max, that is
possibly the worst idea I ever heard."

"So I won't go if you
won't."

"I didn't say I wouldn't."

The next day Maximus
asked Brutticus if he would mind living in Kakariko village for a bit.
Brutticus said he would. They set out, through the mountains, and made
it to a ruined capitol in two or so days. They walked through the rubble
and followed the sounds of a sea Until they made it to a dock.
Surprisingly, Maximus knew the few people who had gathered.

"Is
this everyone? Maybe we won't need such a big boat."

"I think
maybe there will be more."

He walked over to the dock.

Re: Fate in the Haze

Post by Bob-Kyle on Fri Apr 09, 2010 3:29 pm

Quint looked around. Apparently the news of a magical ship and random
cute girl stowing away with them wasn't big news, though it might be
because Glenn was being bombarded with old friends.

"Say...erm...who ARE you anyway?"
Quint asked as he turned to face the girl he had found in the ship
cabins.

"I know it's custom for a
dirty race like yours to be rude, but couldn't you at least ask nicely
and tell me yours first half-blood? I call you half-blood because Gerudo
whores only mate with other races, although I'm still puzzled to what
self respecting men would do so. So never mind just your name, what is
your other half, half-blood?"
the girl replied to Quint in a
pompous tone.

Quint's eye was twitching. It wasn't just the fact
she had repeatedly reminded him he's not a pure blood, or that he comes
from a race renowned for being thieves and giving birth to a great man
of Evil, but she had just implied his mother was a whore!

"Wow...that really pissed you off, di-"
Hob tried to tell Quint, as he suddenly reached out and grabbed him in
his hand.

"Hylian,"
Quint replied through clenched teeth, as he released Hob from his grip,
"And my name, you bratty little bitch,
is Quintinius Arborinus Lucifer"

"Hylian? Hmm, your mother must have been such
the seducer,"
she then held out a hand to Quint, not
even phased from the threatening glare Quint was giving her, "Lilah. Nice to meet you Quintinius. Such a nice
name for a half-blood..."

Quint had the
incredible urge there to grab her by the throat and choke her to death,
yet he refrained from doing so. There was something in this sassy girl
in front of him...he...admired.

He held her hand and shook it.
"Charmed..." Quint said, as he
began to calm down, looking around. It seemed everyone was getting ready
to go.

Once everyone was on board, Glenn, the captain and
reason of this voyage, Dao, a friend of Glenn's, and an old acquaintance
of Quint, another Gerudo, though female, who was acquainted with Glenn
and Dao, Lilah, a new member of the crew, who Quint had randomly found
when checking out the ship and Maximus and Vess, who both had history
with him, involving a certain wizard and demonic Gerudo. They were the
only ones who were joining Glenn on his adventure, and as the ship
started to move, so they all waved to old friends and family that were
on the beach who ha come to say their final goodbyes.

All,
except for Quint. He was down in the cabins. he had no reason to be on
deck waving to anyone. Everyone saying goodbye either didn't know him or
hated him. Although that wasn't the reason he was down there, but more
to check up on why Lilah was holed up in one of the cabin rooms. Quint
found one of the doors left open slightly, and tapped on it before he
entered.

"...Lilah? You in
here?"
Quint asked as he stood in the doorway, although he
knew it was her, as she was the only one not above deck but down here
sitting on the edge of a bed...weeping.

She didn't say anything
for a minute or so, and then wiped her eyes and turned around.

"What do you want Gerudo...?"
she asked him sharply.

Quint walked in and closed the door
behind him.
"I heard you
crying...whats wrong?"
Quint not only surprised
himself, but Hob as well. Since when did Quint care about another
person?!

"Oh what do you care, or
understand for that matter?"
she said as she sniffled
and wiped her nose.

"If your really
interested, it's cause I'm alone. And I don't feel any better with the
fact everyone above deck is waving and saying goodbye to their loved
ones, when I have NONE! So like I said Gerudo, you don't understand or
care. You've probably never cared about another person in your life to
worry about being alone..."

Quint walked over and sat
himself next to Lilah.
"Actually, I
do understand...and in fact, your not wrong about that last thing,
except there was this one person I truly cared about. In fact, I loved
her. And when that had finally dawned on me, that she was the only thing
in the world I cared about, I wanted nothing more to be with her. Yet
that was took away from me, all of it, by some fool that claimed he was a
man of righteousness and good. After that, I had thought at least I
still have my family, but I don't even have that now,"

Quint explained, as he laid a hand on her lap, "You and I aren't that different really..."
Quint said, as it suddenly occurred to him why he admired Lilah.

She
was just like her. She was like Pearl!

Donovan was leaning on the mast, watching people who were on the boat
waving to people who weren't on the boat. This seemed a strange
practice, as he was sure they had -just- seen one another before they
got on the boat in the first place.

He recognized most of them
from his previous travels in the lands near this port, but was
disappointed to see that the specific person he was looking for was not
among their ranks.

"Yet." He thought.

He waited patiently
for the people who were on the boat to stop waving to people who
weren't on the boat, and then decided to announce his presence.

"So!
This boat. A little run down, but it's got potential. Who's is it?"

Quint walked out the door buttoning up his tunic, then closed the door.
As he walked up the stairs he donned his white scarf again.

"I can't tell if you actually like her or
that you just took advantage of the fact she was upset..."

Hob said to Quint as he hovered behind him.

"So much for being able to sense my every feeling
Hob...anyways yeah...I think I like her..."
Quint
replied as he turned to go up the second flight of stairs to find
everyone had began finishing their last goodbyes. He was about to walk
over to the group and talk, but the voice of someone from over the at
the mast caught his attention, asking who owned the boat.

Quint,
annoyed at yet another stow away aboard went to take his claymore of
his back...only to remember he no longer had a weapon.

"...Crap...was hoping to butcher the bastard
and use him as Gyorg bait..."
Quint mumbled, as he
folded his arms in disappointment.

Quint then took strolled a
few steps towards the random man.
"As
far as I know, the ship is owned by Glenn over there,"

Quint motioned towards Glenn, "However
I think the question that needs to be asked is who the hell are you?"

"Ahha!" Exclaimed Donovan, "There is a fine question; 'Who the hell am
I?'. However, dear fellow, I am afraid that the answer to which is of
such magnitude and scope that were one to sail the seas once and once
again, he would still find himself short of time to explain with any due
justice."

Donovan paused, and took a small step forward towards
Quint, offering his hand.

"So! In conclusion, you may simply call
me Donovan, and we shall leave that at that."

He turned his
attention to Glenn.

"Glenn. It's been a while. You've got a nice
dinghy here. You have a captain yet?"

Oh! Donovan! Unfortunately we do not. Do we need
one?

Glenn turned back to the horizon, it was still

The sea. Finally, it was within sight. A sprinting figure suddenly
disappeared, the grass and other foliage around him swept by a gale, a
bird startled out of the grass by a bright green flash.

A green
flash, a gust of wind, and Sereph's clothed feet sunk into sand. More
Nayru damned sand. But at least the breeze coming off of the ocean
carried with it the innately familiar scent of salt water, the extra
moisture feeling good against his dark scales. A flock of gulls he had
disturbed were now circling around him, a few settling back down onto
the sand as he began to walk down the beach, towards an out of place
looking gathering, as well as a boat on the sand. Another gust of wind,
this one increasing his walking speed a great deal, and the zora was
within shouting distance of the group, and faces became recognizable.

"Why...
why do the Goddesses send me on this errand," he asked himself, putting
his hands to his temples.

Glenn chuckled upon seeing the shadow-like
figure running towards the boat.

Sereph!

Glenn greeted the Zora as he
approached the ship, again the ship seemingly shifted below the deck for
its new mate. Glenn immediately sensed something was wrong, but chose
not to ask.

Hey Sereph, do you
want to leave Hyrule for whatever reason? We're gonna set sail, who
knows how long it'll be before we return.

Re: Fate in the Haze

"I am looking for a way to cross the ocean," Sereph replied to Glenn's
query, an appraising eye on their vessel, "though I can't profess to say
how long I'll be joining you all. At least until next landfall
certainly, but once my task is completed I'll be leaving." Without so
much as a gesture of dismissal Sereph walked over to the ship and jumped
up to grab hold on the ledge of the deck, pulling himself aboard
without bothering to look for a ladder, gangplank, or other
more...mundane means of entry. Removing Draa from his back and his
sword from his belt, the zora moved over to the far side and sat with
his back against the rail, right leg upright in front of him, left
laying flat against the deck.

He'd left most of his equipment
back in his room at Gerudo Valley, and would need to resupply at some
point on the journey, but that was something to deal with when he could.
For now he just took stock of what he had: Naginata, sword, bow, some
deku nuts, and his fireproof mantle. His desert clothes would be
suitable for the time being, and everything else he owned would be safe
in the valley for however long he chose to stay away.

The
realization at the possible length of this journey pried a deep sigh out
of the zora, who was otherwise completely motionless.

"Bah! That last village burned down too
fast...guess that's what you get when you set fire to a town composed of
three houses and a barn..."

The Skullkid sighed as he
walked across the beach, kicking some sand into the air. Now that the
war was over, there was very little to do in Hyrule. The war had taken
it's toll on the people, and a decreased population meant less toys for
him to play with...and a full bag of boredom as a reward.

But
it seemed that the godesses were on his side, for before him now lied
the answer to his predicament...a boat. His opportunity to escape the
boredom that tormented him, and in turn, torment a new land.
The imp
walked into the boat, literally, his form becoming transparent as he
walked through the wooden planks, into a room on the vessel's lower
quarters.

Spotting a bed through the corner of his eye, dietrich
decided to make himself at home.

Donovan seemed to be scanning the sky for something. He craned his neck,
tilted his head, spun himself around from time to time, and generally
just seemed confused.

After about five minutes of this routine,
he seemed to give up with a mild shrug and a quiet, muttered quip to
himself. He had taken notice of the spotted black scaled Zoran a few
minutes ago, but there were somewhat more pressing matters to attend to
at that time. With those matters sternly refusing to be attended to, he
turned his attention towards the Zoran and took a few steps to position
himself just outside the radius of his fore-fins.

"So, I-"
Donovan spun around suddenly, thrusting his arm in the direction of the
beach, pointing at something. A small white dragon, no bigger than a
buckler, flew in from the direction of the sea and alighted on Donovan's
left shoulder. The dragon dropped a flask it had been carrying into
Donovan's chest pocket.

It was a good 30 seconds before Donovan
stopped pointing towards the beach and reached into his cloak and
withdrew the flask.

He took a quick draw from it as he turned
back towards Sereph, gesturing an invite to some as well. "Sereph, my
friend. Would you mind if I intruded upon your rather uncomfortable
looking rail? It would seem I have some business I would like to
discuss, should the mood befit it."

Glenn thought to himself, he had managed to
find himself a pretty decent crew by his standards...then again he had
never been sailing before. Immediately it occurred to him that there was
no way to get onto the water and start sailing.

Err... Hey! Maximus! You think you could...?

Soon
after speaking, Glenn found himself thinking once again.

Where should we go...? Again with the rushing in
without a plan... I guess we'll figure it out soon...

Quint looked round at the new members joining the crew, wondering how
their could be space for so many. Losing interest, he began to descend
down the stairs into the great hall, then even further down into the
cabins.

"Hmm...is it me, or does
the cabins look...bigger?"
Quint asked Hob, who replied with
a simple nod, as they began walking down the long corridor trying to
remember the room which he was in with Lilah earlier. As he strolled
down, he noticed there were numbers on all the doors.

"You never noticed that...? I suppose you
have no idea what the number was?"

Hob asked Quint, who answered with a shake of his head. Hob then told
him the number, as Quint turned around to go back the way he came as it
had appeared he had gone past it.

"Lilah?"
Quint said as he popped his head through the door, however Lilah wasn't
there.

"Hmm, odd. Maybe I was
wrong?"

"No...she
left a note...and the window is open..."
Quint picked up the
note on the bed, glanced at the open window, then began to read the
note.

I don't know when it is that you will read this, but
most likely, I will have already jumped ship. Look, I won't deny what
happened, but I won't deny that it would just cause an immense amount of
awkwardness between us from now on, seeing as I don't have feelings for
you and I doubt you do for me. Besides, you have...well, I won't say
friends, more...well, you have people you know on that ship, I would
have been all alone. So yeah, I've left, going to see what fate has in
store for me, though I regret to say it isn't to be with you.

Farewell,
Quintinius, I'll try to forget you.

Quint and Hob stood
there in silence for a moment.

"...Is
it me or does she sound a bit dramatic for someone you knew for only a
couple hours? I mean come on, gee- Erm...Quint what are you doing?"

Hob asked as Quint was getting himself through the window.

"What does it look like fool, I'm going
after her. She couldn't have left too long ago..."
Quint
replied.

"Okay...but despite
whatever stupid reason you have for following her, don't you think it
might make sense to jump ship AFTER telling everybody? I mean if they
still think your down here they'll leave without you!"

"No time." Quint said, as he
dropped from the window down onto the wet sand below.

"Oh for the love of...argh..."
Hob mumbled, as he swiftly followed Quint as he saw him running off.

Quint
was right about her not leaving to long ago, as they both saw her
walking off only a few yards away up the beach. Quint cupped his hands
to his mouth and started shouting to get her attention.

Dietrich rested his head on the soft pillow, something he hadn't done
in...ever. In fact, it was the first time ever he'd slept in a bed. He'd
usually pass his nights asleep on the tree branches of the Lost Woods,
and during the war, the roof of a certain Scrub's inn was his "room".

As
he tried to get some shut-eye, he heard someone shouting outside,
screaming a name throughout the beach. He opened his window, eyes still
half shut behind his mask

"Will you
SHUT UP!! People are trying to sleep here douchebag!"

"Hmmm... Oh yes."

He went to the stern of the boat, which was the
part that was landed. After wondering vaguely how one backed a boat up,
leaned against the stern, and pushed. The boat didn't want to move at
first, but as more and more of it eased into the water, it became easier
and easier to move.

"ALL
ABOARD!"

Great going, you
blockhead! How are you going to get back on the boat?

"Hmmmm... I hadn't thought of that.

Of course not. Maximus furrowed his rocky brow.
He wondered how high he could jump without his boots. If he really was
intending to see if he could jump onto the deck, he really was a
blockhead.

"Shut up. I can do
it. "

The blockhead jumped.
And he did make it. This whole world is a load ballocks.

(Sorry
about the cop out at the end.)

Re: Fate in the Haze

Lilah swiftly turned round to see Quint running towards her with a red
ball of light following him.

"...Quint...?"
Lilah exclaimed, as Quint stopped in front of her, catching his breath
for a moment.

"Hold up...right.
Lilah, please, don't go. We need to talk, but not right now. We need to
get back on the boat-"

"I'm
sorry Quint, but that ship has already set sail..."

Lilah cut Quint off just as he was about to finish his sentence.

"But-"
"SHE MEANS THE SHIP ITSELF IS SAILING IDIOT!"
Hob quickly cut off Quint for a second time.

Quint spun round
to see Maximus jumping onto the ship. His jaw dropped as he placed his
hands on his head.

"AWWW COME ON!"

Quint took hold of Lilah's wrist, as she willingly began
running with him.

"Not to
sound silly or anything, but even if we DO catch up, how do you plan on
getting ON the ship?"
Hob asked as he flew alongside the
pair.

"Hob, I'm a Gerudo thief
who has a childhood of climbing tree's easily. FIGURE IT OUT! I'm sure
Lilah won't mind hanging on my back while I climb up the side!"

Quint shouted back in reply, as the two then reached the water and saw
the boat was already yards out.

Quint then began wading through
the shallows until he no longer felt the sand beneath him and so then
started to swim, with Lilah following and Hob, of course, flying above
them. Quint, with his perfect physique and body strength to match, was
swimming fast enough to catch up to the slow moving boat, however Lilah
was having trouble keeping up.

Quint slowed down for a moment and
motioned for her to grab his back. he was no longer swimming as fast
now due to the extra weight, however was still swimming fast enough.
After covering the couple yards distance between them Quint looked
around the stern for something to grab onto, however was having no luck
in doing so. However then he remembered that the cabin windows weren't
that high up the side of the boat and began swimming round the left of
the boat, keeping up with it's massive wooden hull.

Hob, already
figured out where they were heading, flew into the window that Lilah
had left open before, as Quint latched his hands onto it. Lilah then
climbed up and used Quints head as a step up as she pulled herself
through the circled opening.

"Quint?!"
Lilah said, as he stuck her head out the window, and saw that she had
accidentally kicked Quint off when she used his head for a step.

"...Oops..."

Quint had fell
under the water, and having a boot to the face from Lilah, was having
trouble recovering. By the time he stuck his head out the water, he was,
once again, a good few meters behind the boat.

He would have
started swimming again to catch up, however his arms had tired from
carrying Lilah on his back. He started shouting in the hopes of getting
someones attention from the boat, although he doubted anyone could hear
him, so he prayed to the Gods that Hob had already tried doing the same
and told someone that he wasn't on the boat...

---

Hob
flew out the window and up to the main deck where everybody had
gathered, and let out a loud ringing noise, pointing towards the stern.

"MAN OVERBOARD!"
